Export CoursesUpper Quartile will be running its first courses for the Smart Exporter Preparing to Export Programme over January to March. Upper Quartile is  a framework provider for SDI, and has been commissioned to run 2 Introductory Courses and 1 Intermediate Course in Edinburgh and Clydebank over the coming months.

The Introductory courses will be delivered on 14 and 21 February in Edinburgh; and then on 6 and 13 March in Clydebank hosted through the Business Gateway.

The Intermediate course commenced on 18 January in Edinburgh and will run over 6 separate days through February and March. Each course caters for up to 10 companies, and is designed to support companies by helping them develop key skills in a range of business activities, and equipping them with the knowledge to operate internationally.

The Introductory programme is delivered over 2 day workshops, and targeted at companies new to exporting. The programme covers a range of information, case studies and exercises on export market analysis and planning, export market research, and international finance and contracts.

The Intermediate programme covers 12 export modules over 6 days, and is aimed at existing exporters who wish to develop and increase their exports. Modules covered include international culture; export financing and pricing; distribution channels, and the development of an international action plan for each company participating.
